Using Whatson

Using the service

Anyone can browse and search Whatson. Creating an account lets you vote, and completing the short setup lets you post events and comments. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details to yourself.

You need to be old enough to agree to these terms where you live. If you are using Whatson on behalf of an organisation, you are confirming you may do so.

Check event details before you go

This is the most important thing on this page. Events on Whatson are posted by community members and gathered from public sources. Dates change, venues change, and events get cancelled. We do not verify listings.

Always confirm the date, time, location, price and ticketing with the organiser or the official source before you travel or spend money. We are not responsible for an event that turns out to be different from its listing, or that does not happen at all.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it you give us permission to display, store and distribute it as part of running Whatson — showing your event in feeds and search results, for instance.

Only post content you have the right to post. That includes images: do not upload photographs you do not own or have permission to use.

Our community guidelines describe what belongs here. They are part of these terms.

If you are listing your own event

If you post an event you are organising, the details are yours to keep accurate. Update the listing if something changes, and archive it if the event is cancelled. Do not use a listing mainly as an advertisement for something that is not an event.

Things you must not do

• post events that do not exist, or details you know are wrong
• post spam, scams, or anything designed to mislead people out of money
• impersonate another person, organiser or venue
• harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or post hateful content
• post anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights
• disguise paid or affiliate promotion as an ordinary community listing
• scrape, overload or attempt to break the service, or work around its limits

Links to other sites

Event listings often link to ticketing pages, organiser websites and social posts. Those sites are not ours. We do not control them, we have not checked them, and their terms and privacy practices are their own.

Moderation

We can hide or remove content that breaks these terms or the community guidelines, and we can suspend accounts that keep doing it. We may do this without notice where content is harmful or clearly fraudulent.

If your event is removed from public visibility you will still see it listed in your own events, marked as removed.

Availability

Whatson is in public beta. It is provided as it is, without guarantees that it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of mistakes. Features may change or be withdrawn, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance.

Changes to these terms

We will update this page as the product develops, and the date at the top will change with it. If a change materially affects you we will try to say so somewhere you will notice. Continuing to use Whatson after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Who operates Whatson

Whatson is in public beta and does not yet publish an operating entity, a registered address or a contact mailbox. Until it does, these terms do not name a governing jurisdiction, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
